This week on Savory Road Radio, we are featuring Summerhill Pyramid WInery. It’s located in the city of Kelowna, on Lake Okanagan about 4 hours east of Vancouver, British Columbia. The winery is one of the original wineries in the area started by Stephen Cipes. Now the whole family is involved in running this beautiful winery. They create some of the best wines in the area including sparkling wine, reds, whites and Ice Wine.
LISTEN to Savory Road Feature
CEO, Ezra Cipes gave the Savory Road team a tour through the vineyard, showing us many varietals that are popular in French, German and Austrian wine countries. Erza also told us about their process of organic viticulture and winemaking. Their vines and vegetable garden overlooks the hundred mile long Okanagan Lake. The wineries, Sunset Organic Bistro sources their own fresh vegetables for Chef Alex Lavroff’s “farm to table” dishes. Each dish is paired with a wine Summerhill wine.
What makes this winery truly unique is the pyramid that looks over the vineyard. The sacred geometric pyramid wine cellar is aligned to the stars to create a structure of stillness and harmony in their wines.
We thank Ezra and Chef Alex for a delightful and delicious time. To read all about Summerhill Pyramid WInery check out their website
